Clarus CSB MicroCoat 2166 is a blend of food-grade paraffin and microcrystalline waxes specifically formulated for the protection and preservation of bee hive boxes, sold in blocks. MicroCoat 2166 blocks are packaged in 60 pound cartons or by the pallet (~2200 lbs). Ships from our warehouse in Dallas, TX.  

Wax dipped hive boxes are superior to painted or untreated boxes. While paint does provide a protective surface coating, it is not as effective at repelling water. Wax goes one step further – it acts as a preservative for the wood. The process of waxing displaces moisture inside the wood acting as both a very effective moisture barrier and wood preservative. Wax dipped boxes require less maintenance and avoid the need for additional treatment – like repainting.
